Current Assignments

We are working on two major consultancy assignments: one involves a South Coast based WIFI communications company which has recently undergone a change of ownership and the second is an appointment by Mercia Ventures who needs TMS to assist in the growth of a Northern software company, who are focused on connecting customers to their suppliers through a  mobile app. Progress on both these projects has been positive in 2018.

Additionally, we are now focussing our strategic expertise on Crossword Cybersecurity, recently listed on AIM; Crossword specialise in cyber security. Gordon Matthew, our CEO founder, was appointed non-executive Chairman at Flow Communications Ltd in September 2018. He will be key to developing and growing the business during 2019.

Recent Assignments

Arden Group were successfully sold to Babble Cloud Ltd in October 2018, following an extensive M&A project and driven organic growth.

Our involvement at Science Warehouse Ltd, provided substantial business growth over 18 months, resulting in a high profile sale to Advanced in February 2018. 

Other highlights include:

Management of the sale of Intrinsic Technology to Maintel Holdings Plc in July 2017.

ITC Secure – The successful sale of ITC Security to C5 Capital in November 2016.

The appointment of Gordon Matthew as non-executive Chairman of Science Warehouse Ltd in June 2016.

Assessment and evaluation of several investment opportunities in the Technology space for Private Equity.

The transformation of m-hance in 2014, returning the business to profit growth and realigning the future strategy.

Provision of non-executive support and guidance in the development of Calyx Managed Services (CMS) which resulted in a successful exit in early 2015.

Consultancy services to improve operational performance and help position a leading managed services security business for exit.

TMS provided interim executive support and leadership to a PE backed Telecommunications business which needed guidance to enable growth and future strategic development. TMS were instrumental in the appointment of a new CEO and continue to provide consultancy as required.

TMS successfully transformed another PE backed IT Software and Services company by driving value back into the business through a series of operational and strategic manouvres. The Chairman, Paul Woodley, is delighted with the contribution of TMS – “You have done a stunning job and I am very proud of what you have achieved.”

Previously in 2008-2010, Gordon Matthew – CEO at TMS – was engaged by a Private Equity backed mid-market IT telecommunications business and successfully led a business turnaround programme that included re-alignment of the cost base to reflect revenue and gross margin potential, implementation of a national organisation structure, and development of a 3 year Strategic Plan. Throughout the Transformation process, financial performance improved and working capital performance was exceptional, with operating cash generation well in advance of achieved operating profit.

In the period 2001-2007, Gordon successfully led a PE backed IT Software & Services group through a rationalisation and re-structuring programme. This resulted in market leading positions in several vertical markets and sustained improved performance throughout the group culminating in a successful exit for all stakeholders.
